Acoustic Institute named after Academician N. N. Andreev is a scientific-and-research center specialized in fundamental and applied acoustics research. The institute was established in Moscow in 1953 on the initiative of Nikolay Andreev based on the Acoustical laboratory of the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.The Acoustics Institute is a leader in the studies of sound propagation and analysis of ambient noise in the ocean.
