We continue to reveal to you the most relevant events that take place during preparation of the NEVA 2021 Exhibition and Conference.

News from the organizer

On February 3, an agreement was signed between the NEVA international exhibition and Navalia, the largest exhibition in Southern Europe. The parties agreed to work together to promote the shipbuilding industries of the two countries.

On February 15, NEVA-International signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA). The parties agreed to establish effective communications between the expert and business communities and to join efforts in order to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between representatives of the global maritime industry.

Online conferences

From November 2020 to May 2021, NEVA-International Ltd, in cooperation with industry unions and associations, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, holds a series of international maritime online conferences. This is an unprecedented project in its scope and content, designed to bring together leading experts in the field of shipbuilding from around the world. 

On February 1, the online conference "Russia and Germany: technological partnership in shipbuilding" was held. The event was organized by the German-Russian Chamber of Foreign Trade in cooperation with NEVA-International Ltd and with the support of the Marine and Offshore Equipment Department of the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (Germany). The invited experts highlighted various aspects of cooperation between representatives of the Russian and German maritime industries and outlined ways to further strengthen business ties. In particular, new opportunities are opening up in the light of the development of the Northern Sea Route. For the period up to 2024, the goal is to increase the volume of traffic along the Northern Sea Route to 80 million tons. Russia plans to attract foreign partners to cooperate in the construction of infrastructure, environmental protection in the Arctic, etc. According to Ilya Pomylev, Head of the Civil and Marine Engineering Department of the Department of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Engineering of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, non-resource exports and deep industrial cooperation, including in the field of shipbuilding, are the absolute points of further growth of Russian-German trade. On February 26, the online conference "Prospects for the development of Russian-Indian cooperation in shipbuilding" took place. It was hosted by NEVA-International Ltd with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Confederation of Indian Industry, Department of Trade at the Embassy of India in the Russian Federation, Trade Mission of Russia in India and the Center of Small-Craft and Small-Tonnage Shipbuilding "RUSBOATS". Russian companies shared their experience in the construction of ships for various purposes and presented promising products that may be in demand for Indian partners. The participants discussed the real possibilities of export-import cooperation and agreed that the civil shipbuilding industry has a huge potential. Indian companies explained which imported products they are interested in. In particular, these are cargo and passenger ferries and hoverborne speedboats. In February, more than 20 companies confirmed their participation in the NEVA 2021 exhibition. 

Volga Shipping is one of the largest shipping companies in Russia. It performs cargo transportation on inland waterways, in the river-sea communication and along international sea routes. In addition to the development and production of multifunctional boats for special services, the plant offers exclusive recreational boats and tailor-made executive boats.

GLINAR international marine supply network provides a wide range of services for the marine and river fleet worldwide – the supply of main engines, diesel generators, pumping equipment, fuel equipment and any ship spare parts and mechanisms from leading manufacturers, as well as the supply of spare parts, oils, marine chemicals, berthing, rescue and fire protection equipment, residual thickness measurement, consulting, design and repair services anywhere in the world.

The St. Petersburg Compressor Plant specializes in the construction of compressors for military and civil vessels. They are characterized by high reliability, small dimensions and low noise and vibration, which is achieved by using special tools developed by the plant's design bureau. The plant's compressors equip world-famous research vessels, icebreakers, largest tankers, space communication vessels, aircraft carriers and cruisers, destroyers, minesweepers, and coast guard vessels. The company has developed new compressors with drying units for diesel ships. It is constantly expanding the scope of its products, now they are used in the energy, oil industry, metallurgy, transport engineering and other industries.

The Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France Russie) promotes the strengthening of economic and trade relations between France and Russia, cross-investment, and the establishment of a constructive dialog between the business communities of the two countries. Cometto S.p.A., an Italian company, produces heavy-duty semitrailers, modular systems and self-propelled transporters for the transportation of super-heavy cargo. The largest project in the shipbuilding industry is the delivery of the world's largest self-propelled ship section transporter with a capacity of 1000 tons for the HYUNDAI Heavy Industries Shipyard in South Korea.

Yanmar Europe B. V. is a subsidiary of the Japanese Yanmar Holdings, one of the world leaders in the production of diesel engines of various capacities.

Softintech, a St. Petersburg firm, operates in the field of satellite navigation and software development.
