The Parties have agreed to cooperate in establishing effective communication between expert communities, business and political circles of the Russian Federation and Portuguese-speaking countries. In particular, it is planned to develop mutual communication platforms at an international level in order to stimulate transnational interaction in various areas related to the shipbuilding industry, and to promote new long-term partnerships between representatives of business communities. It is also planned to organize joint congress and exhibition events in shipbuilding.
The agreement opens up new prospects for Russian-Portuguese cooperation. Portugal has previously shown interest in Russian high-speed craft. At the same time, the Portuguese market gives Russian businesses access to customers in Portugal as well as to consumers in Europe and Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa. The development of non-resource exports, including shipbuilding products, is of particular importance for the Russian Federation.
