The international online conference “Russia-Finland: prospects of international cooperation in the field of shipbuilding” will take place on the 26th of May.

In order to strengthen cooperation between shipbuilding and shipping companies of Russia and Finland, NEVA International LLC, the organizer of the International NEVA Exhibition, is conducting an online conference supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg Export Support Center and Marine Industry Association of Finland. The participants will discuss the core trends and prospects of the Russia-Finland cooperation in the field of shipbuilding.

Finland ranks 14th in the Russia’s trade turnover and is a major partner in icebreaker building and Arctic development. Despite the decrease in export-import commodity turnover in 2020, Russia and Finland continue interacting in marine industry research and technologies, work out new cruise routes, participated in joint marine research.

The online conference program includes three thematic blocks corresponding to the goals of Russia-Finland trade relations:

- Technological partnership, transfer of innovations
- Cooperation in the Arctic development area
- Possibilities of export-import cooperation

Additionally, the Russian and Finnish technologies of improving a ship’s route in ice conditions, as well as innovative achievements in the shipbuilding and manufacture of ship components will be demonstrated by both counties.

Representatives of the Department of the Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Engineering, the Russian Trade Mission in Finland, Marine Industry Association of Finland, heads of Russian and Finnish shipbuilding companies, including small and medium-sized businesses, are invited to participate in the conference.

The conference will be hosted using ZOOM and will take place from 12.00 p.m. till 02.00 p.m. (Moscow time).

The event is included in the series of international marine online conferences conducted by NEVA International LLC, the organizer of the NEVA Exhibition and Conference, in cooperation with industry unions and associations and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in November 2020 through May 2021.
