Ilya Shestakov, Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, will take part in the Organising Committee of NEVA 2027.
The development of the fishing fleet is traditionally a key focus of NEVA’s exhibition and business programme, and Ilya Shestakov consistently contributes actively to shaping the industry agenda.
Fishing vessels are currently being built under Russia’s investment quota programme, commonly known as “keel quotas”. Under the first and second phases of the programme, 56 vessels have been completed: 29 fishing vessels and 27 crab vessels. A further 65 projects are under way, including 30 fishing vessels and 35 crab vessels.
This year has seen the delivery of the Marlin longliner for cod and haddock fishing; the crab vessels Alexander Rodin, Itelmen and Kildin; and the Kapitan Ipatov supertrawler for pollock and herring fishing. Under current plans, Russian shipyards are expected to deliver a total of ten modern vessels to customers this year.
Why it matters for international participants: NEVA 2027 will bring together stakeholders to discuss fishing-fleet renewal, vessel design, onboard processing and the future of sustainable fisheries operations.
